Room 26 News

We have been extremely busy the last couple of weeks. Swimming started on Monday. The students have been doing a fantastic job so far and have set a wonderful example. The pool staff have already commented on how well behaved and well mannered the students are. Well done, room 26.

In Literacy we have been focussing on reading strategies. We have been developing our self questioning skills when reading a variety of texts. The students have been taking on the role of author and character to answer a variety of questions. The students had some amazing questions to gain a greater understanding of what the text was about and the perspective of the author and different characters.

The students have been taking on the role of teacher during Mathematics. We have been focusing on interpreting data. They had a variety of graphs and pie charts to create their own questions to ask the class. They even asked questions related to fractions and percentages of the data.

I have been very proud of them.

Congratulations to Paige and Tejas who made it to the semi finals of the Year 4 Super Scientist Presentations this week. Everybody did a fantastic job presenting their facts on their chosen Science topic.

Dancing will continue in weeks 8 and 9 and Dance Parties will take place in week 10. Letters will be coming out tomorrow with more details.

Please remember to return any library books by next week. Students can still take part in Literacy Pro quizzes until the end of term. We are almost at out target of 5,000,000 words.
