Congratulations Amy and Avinash

Room 9 wish to congratulate Amy and Avinash on the wonderful job they are doing for their class. They work hard to make sure the children get their lunch orders, return their library books, they ensure the class are sitting quietly and ready to return to class after recess and they do an excellent job running our class council meetings. Amy and Avinash make excellent student councillors.

Thank you
From

Indigenous Australian Shelters

The children of Room 9 have been learning about Indigenous Australians in History. We looked at how they settle in certain areas and build shelters to keep them warm, dry and safe from harm. Indigenous Australians built their shelters from twigs, branches, leaves and barks of trees. Room 9 collected resources to design and build their own shelters. Look at the amazing job they did.

Buddy Reading.

Room 4 have been learning all about dinosaurs this term so the children in Room 9 decided to write story books based on dinosaur characters. Room 9 were very excited to write their stories to share with their buddies in Pre Primary and spent time during their Literacy Block creating the story books.

Room 9 had a wonderful time on Thursday morning sharing their completed stories with their buddies. The children of Room 4 had a lovely morning listening to the stories about all their favourite dinosaurs.
See what the Pre Primary children had to say about our books!

"It was cool, it was funny and made me laugh."

"I liked it when the dinosaur ate the leaves. My favourite picture was the T-Rex."

""It made me feel happy."

"I liked the pictures, story, colours, dinosaurs and drawings."

"I like the dinosaur book because the little girl has a cute piggy tail."

"The dinosaur was fun."

"I liked the pictures and the story. My favourite dinosaur was the T-Rex and Triceratops."

"I liked the 3rd page because the dinosaur was doing the strange dance."

"It was a good story."

"I liked the princess the best."

"I liked Amy's book because it had me in it and the dinosaur was green and pink."

"It was a nice book, the dinosaur was pink. I liked the pictures and the numbers."
We look forward to sharing our writing with Room 9 again in the future.

Our City Museum

Congratulations Room 9 on the presentation of your City Projects. It was fantastic to walk around the museum talking to the children and learning all about the wonderful cities and cultures of the world. You did an amazing job with your research and organisation of your display boards, booklets and power points. A huge thank you to Ms Roberts, Ms Granger and all the parents who came to support the children on Friday afternoon. It was a great experience for everybody.
Well Done!

Congratulations and thank you to those children who worked on their project during the break. I have been impressed with the standard of work. You must have worked extremely hard over the holidays. Well done to all the parents who supported their child with this project.

The children are currently presenting their work in class and would also like to invite parents to view their work on Friday 9th May. The classroom will be open from 2.30 - 3.05. It would be great for you to come in and see their work.

Remember that in Room 9 we expect the highest standards of work in all areas, including Homework!

Have a great Term and I look forward to working with you all again.
