Latest News

We have have such a busy term so far. I would like to thank everyone involved with the recent Arts Festival. It was a huge success. Some students in room 26 were involved in dancing and choir. The highlight of the evening was The Italian Play with two very special guests.

We have recently completed Year 5 NAPLAN testing to see what the students understand and what we need to develop further.  I was extremely proud of all students who did an outstanding job. Fingers crossed for next year.

We have recently been learning how to summarise in Literacy. We are now making connections with our Science (Earth and Space) by summarising information from the internet to create individual projects. The students are learning many skills, including time management, research skills, summarising and how to present their information to a high standard.

We continued to develop these skills further on Tuesday, when we met with our buddies in Room 30. They were researching information about Quendas. Room 26 were helping Room 30 with their ICT skills. They did a fantastic job. We always love supporting the younger students.

Next week (week 5) the students will be presenting their power points for Super Scientist Challenge. A timetable has been sent out early this week  and presentations will take place from Monday to Thursday. Please make sure you are well prepared. The top 2 students from each Year 4 class will compete in the final in week 6. Good luck everyone.

Humphreys Dance is going well and the students in Room 26 are beautifully behaved. Can't wait to see the final dances in week 10.

Our swimming sessions will be in weeks 7 and 8. Please ensure that all forms have been returned and payment made by early next week. We need a written letter from parents if students will not be taking part.

Please make sure that all students are continuing to complete their homework on time, learn their spellings and take part in Literacy Pro. It would also be beneficial to keep revising times tables, as these are important in a large amount of the Year 4 Maths program.

I will keep you posted with any other information over the next couple of weeks. The term is certainly going quickly.
