Symmetrical African Masks

Room 26 used their knowledge of measurement, shape and symmetry during Mathematics yesterday. We followed a step by step guide to produce our own creative masks. They look outstanding. These will be on display during the Learning Journeys in week 10.

Book Week

What an end to a very busy week last week. The students took part in a Book Swap on Thursday, where they got to exchange some fabulous books. We had nearly a 1000 books exchanged on that day. There is a lot of reading to be done.

Thank you to everyone for dressing up in their favourite Book Character on Friday. I love to see the variety of costumes on display, including staff members.

See if you can spot your favourite character below. Congratulations to all families for your support.

Scitech Excursion

Room 26, along with Rooms 17 and 25, visited Scitech last week. It was certainly a packed day. The students got to take part in many scientific activities within the main areas. It was wonderful to watch the excitement and wonder on their faces. We watched an amazing show, all about 'Energy'. Who knows what the future holds for us? The students were fortunate enough to visit the CSIRO Lab for an hour of Microbiology. We used a special kind of microscope to search plants and insects up close. The students even made their own video clip on the Laptops explaining what they found. What super stars!

The day ended with a visit to the Planetarium, where we watched a movie about whether their could be Aliens in Space?

The students were a credit to the school and it was a pleasure to take them with us. I would like to thank all the staff members who attended on the day and I hope they enjoyed their it too.

Enjoy the photos!
